1. Using Great Honk
You may use Great Honk and this website for lawful personal or organizational purposes. You are responsible for your device, your Apple account, the information you enter, and compliance with laws that apply to you. Do not misuse the website, interfere with its operation, attempt unauthorized access, or submit unlawful or harmful material.
2. An organizational tool
Great Honk is an informational recordkeeping utility. It helps you store and review information that you provide. It does not independently verify VINs, odometers, receipts, mechanical work, ownership, insurance, registration, titles, inspection status, routes, costs, or other records.
3. Accuracy and official documents
You are responsible for checking the accuracy and completeness of your records. Copies stored in Great Honk do not replace official registration, insurance, licenses, titles, permits, inspection documents, warranties, or any original record you are required to keep or present.
4. Maintenance and professional advice
Great Honk is not a mechanic, lawyer, insurer, tax adviser, manufacturer, dealer, or government agency. Information in the app or website is not professional mechanical, legal, insurance, tax, safety, or government advice. Consult a qualified professional or official source when a decision affects safety, rights, coverage, taxes, or legal compliance.
5. Reminders
Date- or mileage-based reminders are convenience features. They depend on the information you enter, device permissions, operating-system behavior, and your settings. Great Honk does not guarantee that a reminder will be delivered or prevent missed maintenance, inspections, renewals, or other deadlines.
6. Trips and location
Trip location collection begins only when you start a trip in the current app. You are responsible for operating your device safely and legally. Do not interact with the app while driving or when doing so would be distracting or unlawful. Recorded routes and distances may be incomplete or inaccurate.
7. Backups, exports, and access
You are responsible for maintaining device and Apple-account access and for keeping appropriate backups or exports. Cloud synchronization and storage are not guaranteed backups. Great Honk supports certain CSV and archive exports, but archive import is not currently available. Device loss, account loss, deletion, software changes, or provider outages may affect access to records.
8. External links and services
Great Honk may open websites, searches, App Store pages, payment providers, or other external services. Those services are operated by others and have their own terms and privacy practices. A link does not imply endorsement, partnership, or responsibility for external content.
9. Donations and sponsorships
Any future contribution is voluntary, is not a purchase of ownership or control, and is not represented as tax-deductible. A contribution does not guarantee a feature, delivery date, support level, or continued availability. Payment processing may be governed by an external provider’s terms.
10. Intellectual property
Great Honk, its logo, interface, website, copy, and original materials are owned by the operator or its licensors and are protected by applicable intellectual-property laws. These terms do not transfer ownership. Apple, iPhone, iCloud, and App Store are trademarks of Apple Inc.; Great Honk is independent and is not affiliated with or endorsed by Apple Inc.
11. Availability and changes
Features may be added, changed, limited, or removed as the product evolves. Great Honk may suspend access to the website or app distribution for maintenance, security, legal, or operational reasons. Planned features are not promises that they will ship.
12. Warranty disclaimer
To the extent permitted by law, Great Honk and the website are provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of uninterrupted availability, perfect accuracy, fitness for a particular purpose, or freedom from every defect. Nothing in these terms excludes a warranty that cannot legally be excluded.
13. Limitation of liability
To the extent permitted by law, Great Honk’s operator will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive losses arising from use of or inability to use the app or website, including loss of data, missed maintenance, missed deadlines, vehicle damage, business loss, or reliance on user-entered records. Liability that cannot legally be limited remains unaffected.
14. Changes to these terms
These terms may be updated as Great Honk evolves. The effective date will change when revisions are published. Continuing to use the app or website after updated terms take effect means you accept the revised terms where permitted by law.
